The keyword for this week was focus, as in this week we focused on pinpointing the problems and the needs that we want to tackle. So how did we do it?

We interviewed Ruth Kiro, an expert in her field that works at the Ministry of Environmental Protection. She helped us understand that when it comes to electrical consumption, we should combine the environmental element with the financial element, and by doing so meeting a greater need for the people.

In addition to this, we continued to interview end-users, except this time we interviewed parents that have a much higher energy consumption than our previous group of interviewees. These interviews led us to affirm that the problem we are tackling is indeed a meaningful one and that a solution for lack of available information and the lack of awareness of the consumption of electricity in the financial sense, is needed.

We succeeded in narrowing our target audience which let us to understand that our personas should be families that maintain a large household that consume electricity more than the average household and that have a low awareness of the consequences of overconsumption of electricity.

After we understood the needs and problem that we need to focus on, we researched already existing solutions in the open market to better understand if there is interest towards the problem we chose and if so, what type of solutions are already available.

Finally,

an exciting event that happened this week was that our group finally got to meet up!! Under any other circumstances, this wouldn’t be that exciting of an event, but given the reality of today, we were so elated!
